About

My name is Will Crouse (aka Armont Development) and I'm a Northwestern University educated full stack web developer with four years of professional experience. I create beautiful user friendly websites and web applications built on the newest and fastest technologies. I pair with my clients to understand their long term goals and develop the features they need to attract the users they want. I have worked with a range of clients, from individuals who need a personal or small-business website, to multi-billion dollar companies who need complex scalable applications. I build web applications with one of the most reliable, flexible, and scalable frameworks, Ruby on Rails, and code in Ruby, HTML, HAML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, React, Redux, and SQL. I also specialize in data modeling, database administration, and production-level application deployment, management, and scaling. Like all good developers I test my work thoroughly and am able to integrate applications with any needed third party APIs such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, or Stripe.

Client Work

  • Propel hired me to design and develop a new platform for shredding and storage companies to manage their businesses all in one piece of software. I built from the ground up an application that replaces five other applications these businesses previously had to use to run their companies. Propel is currently in use by large shredding and storage companies and provides the most robust solution to this industry’s software needs.

  • ChatterHigh is a multinational organization dedicated to connecting high school students with colleges to help students decide the best next step in their education. I've worked with them off and on for two years now, creating a robust online payment platform that allows users to sign up for different subscription packages, as well as implementing the code to propogate French translations throughout their website.

  • Omron Healthcare wanted to create a top-to-bottom corporate wellness program in hospitals that used their pedometers. I was hired to build a web application that would track employees' daily use of the pedometer and graphically display the data for their employers. The employers could then hold competitions and reward employees who exercised and used their pedometers the most.

  • The Chicago Quantitative Alliance needed a complete redesign and redevelopment of their website. I was hired to design the site from mockup to code and to implement new features for users allowing them to pay for their membership online, search for events and presenters, and sign up for upcoming conferences.

  • Global Trotters Fund is an innovative new form of online silent auction where users can choose charities they would like to donate to while they shop for once-in-a-lifetime events and high-end goods. I collaborated with the founder to design and develop an MVP of her vision for the site. On top of the silent auction functionality and payment platform, I also developed a CMS for GTF that makes editing the site easy for administrators.

  • Trade Rivals is an online weekly fantasy stocks competition. They came to me to build the beta version of their website. I implemented design based off of the company's mockups and created a gaming platform that allows users to choose and trade portfolios. By hooking up with an API feed of the NASDAQ, I gave our users the ability to buy and sell stocks with up-to-the-second accurate trading prices.

  • Audicle is a chrome extension that allows users to listen to and record articles on the internet. Working outside of Ruby on Rails and instead immersing myself in the javascript-intensive world of extensions, I designed and developed the beta version of Audicle, to be released within the next year.
